The Bruins need this superstar to turn things around against the Maple Leafs.
The Boston Bruins may have won their last matchup against the Seattle Kraken, but it did come with a bit of controversy. Superstar forward David Pastrnak was benched for the entire third period after a bad turnover.
Now, with the Bruins playing against an always-tough Toronto Maple Leafs club on Tuesday (Nov. 5), they will need Pastrnak to have a big response game.
Pastrnak certainly has had his success against the Maple Leafs. When the Bruins played the Leafs on Oct. 26 this season, he scored a goal and added an assist. In addition, he famously scored the Game 7 overtime winner last spring to knock Toronto out of the first round.
With Pastrnak having a large history of success against the Maple Leafs, this latest contest provides him with an excellent opportunity to try to move past his benching. Furthermore, with the Bruins only being one point behind the Maple Leafs in the Atlantic Division standings, they would jump ahead of them with a win. Thus, a strong performance from Pastrnak would be significant for Boston.
We will now need to wait and see what kind of performance Pastrnak puts together from here. In 13 games this season, the 2014 first-round pick has six goals, 11 points, and a minus-4 rating.
