The Boston Bruins have traded forward Marc McLaughlin to the New Jersey Devils in exchange for defenseman Daniil Misyul.
McLaughlin, 25, is the second Massachusetts native to be dealt by the Bruins on deadline day, as Charlie Coyle was traded to the Colorado Avalanche.
McLaughlin spent each of the last four seasons with the Bruins organization after signing with the Original Six club in the late stages of the 2021-22 campaign. In 26 games over four seasons with Boston, he had six goals, 44 hits, and a minus-2 rating.
McLaughlin appeared in 12 games with Boston this season, posting two goals and a minus-1 rating. In 34 games with the Providence Bruins this campaign, he had five goals and 14 points.
As for Misyul, the Bruins have added a new defensive prospect to their system. The 6-foot-3 left-shot blueliner appeared in his first NHL game earlier this season with the Devils, where he had one hit and a minus-1 rating in 12:23 of ice time. In 47 games this season with the Utica Comets, he had eight assists, 33 penalty minutes, and a minus-8 rating.
