The Boston Bruins have announced that defenseman Ian Mitchell has been placed on waivers. In addition, Frederic Brunet, John Farinacci, Vinni Lettieri, Fabian Lysell, and Fraser Minten have been assigned to the Providence Bruins.

Mitchell, 26, appeared in 15 games for Boston this season, where he had one assist, 23 blocks, and a minus-2 rating. In 46 games with Providence this season, he has four goals and 27 points. To rejoin Providence for the playoffs, he needs to first clear waivers.

Brunet, 21, made his NHL debut in Boston's season finale against the New Jersey Devils on April 15. During the contest, he recorded one hit, five blocks, and a minus-1 rating. In 68 games this season with Providence, the 2022 fifth-round pick has five goals and 24 points.

Like Brunet, Farinacci made his NHL debut against the Devils in the Bruins' final game of the season. He left a great impression, as he scored his first NHL goal during it. In 57 games this season with Providence, he has nine goals, 37 points, and a plus-9 rating.

Lettieri, 30, played in 26 games this season for Boston, posting three goals and five points. He will now once again be a key veteran forward for Providence in the playoffs. In 46 contests this season with the AHL squad, he has 20 goals and 48 points.

Lysell played in his first 12 NHL games this season for Boston, where he had one goal, three points, and a minus-4 rating. His three points came during the Bruins' final four games of the year, so he ended his NHL season on a high note. Now, he will look to stay hot for Providence from here. In 51 games this season with Providence, he has 11 goals and 34 points.

Minten was called up during Boston's final stretch of the season, where he had one goal and 12 hits in six games. Since being acquired by the Bruins from the Toronto Maple Leafs at the deadline, the promising prospect has three goals and seven points in 10 AHL games with Providence.
