Brynn Whitfield has taken steps to become a mother. The Real Housewives of New York star already spoke about her hopes of having a child, but Brynn had new updates to share during a recent episode.
The reality TV star spoke with co-star Jessel Taank about some of her regrets, as well as her timeline for the future. Brynn is in good company with Jessel, who conceived her twin boys through IVF. It’s modern medicine at its finest.
Brynn Whitfield feels that “there’s definitely one” child in her future
RHONY viewers will know that Brynn went through the process of freezing her eggs earlier in 2024. Then, the marketing and communications consultant revealed that she asked her ex-fiance Gideon Lang-Laddie to donate sperm.
“When you get in your late 30s, the pool is much smaller. All the good ones are taken. It seems like there were more eligible, nice, kind men available in like [your] 20s,” Brynn told RHONY producers. “I feel like Carrie Bradshaw, who made the biggest mistake of her life not marrying Aiden.”
In a scene from the recent episode, Brynn joked about missing out on potential opportunities to conceive.
“Do you know what my biggest regret is? All the times that I took Plan B with dudes like hot, smart, IPO-ing, billionaires. Why did I take Plan B?” she said. “Maybe I’m 30, but I know I’m going to be a mom. Dude, I’ve gone through nine days of egg-freezing. I’m f——— injecting myself. I’m a bloated f—— blueberry walking around. I look crazy.”
In a successive confessional, Brynn revealed that she chose to freeze her eggs in London. The procedure was a success.
“I froze my eggs in London in January,” she shared. “So I froze them there, I was very lucky. I got 15 eggs. I’m glad that I did this. It was on my mind more than I thought.”
Ultimately, Brynn has faith that she’s “going to be a mom.” Her intuition tells her that “there’s definitely one” child in her future, but that she doesn’t know exactly how many.
Brynn has the perfect sperm donor in mind
The Bravolebrity filmed the conversation with Gideon when she proposed the idea of him functioning as her sperm donor.
“Well, I was thinking, you know, crazy idea. What if we took some of those eggs out of the freezer and then made an embryo with your sperm?” she asked her ex-fiancé.
“I’m serious about this,” Brynn continued. “I know I’m laughing, but it’s because I get nervous. I’m not saying I want to do the baby thing yet, I’m just like, ‘Do you want to make an embryo?’”
“I love the idea,” Gideon responded. “Hand on heart, love the idea. I think you would make an incredible mother. I’ve always thought that.”
“So look, I’m 38 now. I want to have a kid at least by 40. So if I want to do that, then I think it needs to happen Q1 2025,” she upped the ante.
Gideon seemed surprised by the timeline, but ultimately supportive. From what Brynn has shown of their relationship on camera, it seems the duo are devoted to each at least in friendship. Perhaps it would be the perfect solution for Brynn, who longs to be a mother but has given up on the idea of having children within a marriage.
“So I have a decision. Instead of choosing romance for myself, I can choose a good father for my future children. And I think that Gideon is just a really, really good man. Period,” Brynn stated.
