The Buffalo Bills added nine new players during the 2025 NFL Draft. They are now hard at work adding undrafted players who will compete during rookie minicamp and training camp to show they deserve a roster spot.
For the Bills, one of their UDFAs stands out from the rest as someone who could prove that the rest of the NFL made a mistake by not selecting him in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Bills signed sleeper Arkansas State center Jacob Bayer after he went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft
The Bills have signed undrafted rookie Arkansas State offensive lineman Jacbo Bayer. Bayer began his college career in the FCS at Lamar, where he spent his first two seasons. He transferred into the FBS by joining Arkansas State. He has started all 46 games he has appeared in during his collegiate career, and earned first and second team Sun Belt Conference honors over the past two years at Arkansas State.
He earned a career-high 80.3 pass blocking grade from Pro Football Focus this past year and was only credited with allowing one sack and zero QB hits. He now joins the Bills, who have their starters on the interior of their line figured out for 2025, but their reserve roles seem up for grabs. Bayer was invited to the Senior Bowl this year and impressed throughout against multiple defensive linemen who ended up hearing their names called early in the 2025 NFL Draft. I'm interested to see if Bayer is able to push to be the Bills' backup center, and I wonder if they will also have him work out as a guard to see if he could be a viable option to earn a roster spot at either spot.
