Bunnie Xo, wife of musician and “American Idol” Artist in Residence Jelly Roll is sharing why she and her husband haven’t been spotted out in public together recently. Bunnie got candid on her podcast “Dumb Blonde,” explaining that her IVF treatments have kept her home a lot.
“Somebody said the other day, they’re like, ‘They used to always be together. Now you never see them together,'” Bunnie said of she and Jelly Roll. “I’m like, ‘do you guys not know for the past six months I’ve been trying to make a baby?'”
She went on the explain that her husband has to “bring home the bacon” which is why he is frequently seen out at events. “Luckily, I have the luxury of being able to work at from home … he doesn’t. He has to make appearances,” Bunnie said. She also reflected on how difficult the IVF process has been for her, revealing she has been “going through heartbreak.”
Bunnie Xo & Jelly Roll Had a ‘Huge Win’ in June
In June, Bunnie took to Instagram to post a somewhat cryptic video in which she is seen on the phone looking overcome with emotion. “When you just got the call you’ve been waiting on for 5 months since this ivf journey started,” she wrote over the clip. “All the tears, the hopelessness & the struggle, God finally said, ‘Here.’ 😭.”
She was careful not to mislead fans, however. “This is not a pregnancy announcement- we won’t announce that. This is just a huge huge win for us 🙏🏼🤍💫✨,” Bunnie clarified in the comments of her post.
Jelly Roll is already the father of two children, Bailee Ann, 16, and Noah Buddy, 8, but he was open about wanting to start a family with Bunnie.
“J was like … ‘I would love to have a baby with you.’ And that was not the response that I thought he would say. I was just like, ‘Wow really?'” she shared on the July 2 episode of her podcast. “So now he’s, like, really excited about it.”
Fatherhood Inspired Jelly Roll’s Weight Loss
Jelly Roll recently revealed he’s lost an impressive 200 lbs. and fatherhood has been a big motivator in his wellness journey.
During an appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast last year, the singer explained, “My wife and I are talking about having a baby, and it really made me realize that at almost 40, I was like, it means I got to live to at least 60. I got to see this kid into college.”
And Bunnie is super excited about her husband’s weight transformation. “He’s so tiny now, it’s crazy,” she shared on “Dumb Blonde.” “He looks so good. I’m so proud of him.”
