Buying Beverly Hills is cancelled by Netflix after two seasons

Here's why it's not coming back

It's been a devastating start to the week when it comes to TV news. First Prime Video chose not to renew My Lady Jane after its inaugural season, and now Netflix has just cancelled real estate reality series Buying Beverly Hills after two seasons.

The reality series first aired in 2022, and followed the lives and careers of the team at The Agency in Los Angeles. The Agency is headed up by Mauricio Umansky, aka the husband of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' icon Kyle Richards.

Kyle and Mauricio's daughters Farrah, Alexia and Sophia also work at The Agency, and the series saw the family balance tricky office dynamics, media speculation and selling million dollar homes. The family were also joined by many of their colleagues on the series, and the two series saw plenty of office feuds and the occasional firing.

The second season aired earlier this year, and fans (hi, that's us) were fully expecting it to be renewed for a third. However, Deadline has now confirmed the series will not be returning for another season.

A source told the publication the cancellation is reportedly due to "viewing numbers versus the cost of production". So far no member of the cast has commented on the cancellation.

As well as the tough world of the real estate industry, season two of Buying Beverly Hills also touched on the split between Mauricio and wife Kyle. Kyle made a number of appearances in the series, including one scene in which the couple discussed the ongoing media speculation with their daughters.

Thankfully, this won't be the last we've seen of Kyle and, most likely her daughters on screen, as Kyle was recently spotted filming for the 14th season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

We wonder if they'll address the Netflix cancellation on the show?
