Bye OnlyFans. Why Farrah Abraham is choosing AI

Farrah Abraham left behind the reality television world after years on both 16 & Pregnant and Teen Mom (after allegedly being fired three times!) to focus on her career in the adult entertainment industry. And while she has been open about her time on the subscription-based platform, OnlyFans, Abraham is also being open as she steps back from OnlyFans and embraces AI.

It seems that Abraham is teaming up with the chatbot platform Joi AI to create a digital doppelgänger that fans can interact with, without Abraham having to do anything. While it isn’t Abraham, it looks just like her and allows anyone willing to sign up on the platform to act out their wildest fantasies.

Joi AI offers more than just Abraham’s AI lookalike. The platform lets users engage with a wide variety of AI companions (including ones based off celebrities) for emotional connectsion — or more. Users can exchange voice messages and even make video calls with these AI companions, creating an immersive experience, aiming to simulate real companionship while maintaining user privacy and discretion.

And for the person the companion is based on, the chance to make money and give fans an opportunity to interact with them in a way never before possible.

For Abraham, the platform is her way of giving dedicated fans exactly what they want while she’s able to stay busy with other things, like being a mom to her daughter and everything else in her demand jam-packed day-to-day life.

And Abraham points out that messaging with her Joi AI doppelgänger is actually cheaper than a personal message on a platform like OnlyFans, so it’s a better deal for fans on a budget.

But Joi AI isn’t the only company offering this kind of service.

OhChat is another similar platform that has popped up recently. Described as the “lovechild between OnlyFans and OpenAI,” it uses artificial intelligence to build lifelike digital duplicates of public figures like Joi AI. The CEO Nic Young explains that their platform goes a step further than OnlyFans, because it allows subscribers to access infinite personalized content.

Young said of the platform, “an incredibly powerful tool, and tools can be used however the human behind it wants to be used. We could use this in a really scary way, but we’re using it in a really, I think, good, exciting way.”

The draw to creators who are considering leaving OnlyFans for a company like Joi AI or OhChat is the opportunity for passive income — or as close as one can get in this industry.

“You have literally unlimited passive income without having to do anything again,” Young said in an interview.

The company hasn’t even been around a year yet, but has already signed 20 creators, including “Baywatch” actress Carmen Electra, and former British glamour model Katie Price – Jordan.

It will be interesting to see how the AI boom will impact OnlyFans creators and how users will take to these AI versions of their favorite celebrities.
