NFL fans were loving Houston Texans up and coming star quarterback C.J. Stroud taking shots at New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Stroud thinks that Rodgers has under performed in his career, and he gets looked at as better than other guys, even though he just has 1 Super Bowl.
Stroud specifically took shots at Rodgers having just one championship when he has played for numerous great teams.
Stroud made it clear that he believes Los Angeles Rams star QB Matthew Stafford is better than Rodgers. He said that if Stafford has the same supporting cast as Rodgers did throughout his career in Green Bay, that Stafford would have been able to win more than just one Super Bowl.
“If you give Matthew Stafford a chance like Aaron Rodgers had, I guarantee you he might have had more rings,” Stroud said, (first transcribed by ProFootballTalk). “I think he would have like three or four.”
Stroud shockingly also said that he would rather have Eli Manning’s career of two rings compared to Rodgers. It is great to hear a real take coming from a young star quarterback as to how he feels about Rodgers legacy.
It is interesting that he would rather a much worse statistical career but one more Super Bowl. Stroud should have many opportunities to win a Super Bowl but he will have to get through the AFC gauntlet of star quarterbacks and teams.
Rodgers on the other hand, has maybe one or two more real chances to add to his lone Super Bowl, and one more win would absolutely change Rodgers legacy completely.

“I’ve always been very aware that athletes are simply not very smart people when it comes to this kind of stuff but CJ Stroud on the other hand simply doesn’t miss on his takes,” another person said.
“Jets vs Texans this season is must watch TV. If you don’t think Rodgers is seeing all of this and using this as motivation, then you haven’t followed Rodgers career at all,” added Ryan Sampson of the New York Post.

The Texans will face the Jets this season which should make for must see TV. We will see if this story line is brought up ahead of what should be a great matchup!
