Buffalo falls to 4-1 in the preseason after a 6-3 loss to Columbus
The Buffalo Sabres preseason winning streak came to an end on Saturday, as the Columbus Blue Jackets rallied from a 2-0 deficit to score five straight in a 6-3 victory at Nationwide Arena. Josh Dunne, Zach Metsa, and Mason Jobst scored for Buffalo. The star of the contest from the Sabres perspective was rookie Noah Ostlund, who assisted on all three Buffalo goals.
Scott Ratzlaff was perfect for Buffalo between the pipes, stopping 20 of 20 shots before being pulled for Felix Sandstrom. Sandstrom allowed five goals from James van Riemsdyk, Sean Monahan(2), Jake Christiansen, and Adam Fantilli on 22 shots.
The Sabres completed the first half of their European vacation, practicing for the final time in Munich before moving on to Prague in preparation for the opening of the regular season against the New Jersey Devils on Friday.
