For over a decade, the One Chicago franchise has provided viewers with plenty of on-screen action, drama and romance.

NBC’s long-running franchise began in 2012 with Chicago Fire, followed by Chicago P.D. in 2014 and Chicago Med in 2015, with each series now in its own double-digit season. The shows follow a unique set of characters working as first responders and medical staff in the city’s local police departments, fire houses and hospitals, working together to keep the city of Chicago safe.

While each series contains its set of characters, certain plot lines and love interests have overlapped. This has included Sophia Bush’s character Detective Erin Lindsay from Chicago P.D. dating Taylor Kinney’s character Kelly Severide from Chicago Fire.

The shows have also featured crossover episodes, including most recently in January 2025. The television event followed characters from all three series after a gas explosion left many in danger, including personnel at the firehouse, hospital and police station.

The One Chicago franchise also included the short-lived Chicago Justice, which premiered in 2017 but only lasted one season before it was canceled.

So whether you're just getting into the fandom or want to revisit episodes, here's where to watch and stream the One Chicago franchise.

Where can I watch Chicago Fire?

Chicago Fire served as the first installment in the franchise, premiering in October 2012. The series returned for its 13th season in September 2024 and has aired over 270 episodes.

The series follows the lives of the Chicago Fire Department crew, including firefighters, paramedics and rescue personnel, as they keep the city of Chicago secure.

Over the course of 13 seasons, fans have witnessed the show’s characters respond to life-or-death scenarios as they navigate their personal and professional lives while balancing the dangers of their jobs.

Chicago Fire stars include Taylor Kinney as Kelly Severide, Joe Miñoso as firefighter Joe Cruz and David Eigenberg as Christopher Herrmann. In addition, Eamonn Walker plays Wallace Boden alongside Kara Killmer's Sylvie Brett and Jesse Spencer as Matt Casey.

New episodes of Chicago Fire air on NBC on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET. The series is also available to stream on Peacock.

Where can I watch Chicago P.D.?

Chicago P.D. is the second installment in the One Chicago franchise, receiving a backdoor pilot from a season 1 episode of Chicago Fire in May 2013. The show premiered in January 2014 and was renewed for its 12th season in September 2024.

The series follows personnel from the 21st District of the Chicago Police Department, including patrol officers and detectives. Throughout the show, characters deal with various crimes, ranging from street offenders to high-profile murders, while working through their personal problems within the precinct.

Where can I watch Chicago Med?

Chicago Med joined the One Chicago universe with its November 2015 premiere, after an April 2015 episode from Chicago Fire’s third season served as a backdoor pilot. The series was renewed for a 10th season, which premiered in September 2024.

The show takes place in the emergency department at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center in Chicago and follows the medical staff, including the doctors and nurses, as they work around the clock to save patients’ lives.

Throughout the series, the characters face challenges as they try to help out the everyday people of Chicago, navigating high-stakes health issues and ethical dilemmas. The work drama doesn't end when they leave work, though. Viewers also see what happens in their private lives away from the hospital.

Chicago Med stars include Marlyne Barrett as nurse Maggie Lockwood, S. Epatha Merkerson as Sharon Goodwin, Oliver Platt as Dr. Daniel Charles and Steven Weber as Dr. Dean Archer. Other cast members include Torrey DeVitto as Dr. Natalie Manning, Nick Gehlfuss as Dr. Will Halstead, Brian Tee as Dr. Ethan Choi and Yaya DaCosta as nurse April Sexton.

New episodes of Chicago Med air on NBC on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. The series is also available to stream on Peacock.

Where can I watch Chicago Justice?

For a brief time, the One Chicago franchise included a fourth show, Chicago Justice. A May 2016 episode from the third season of Chicago P.D. served as a backdoor pilot for the series. Chicago Justice premiered in March 2017 and ran for 13 episodes. The show was ultimately canceled, marking the first series in the One Chicago franchise to end.

The legal drama took place at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and followed a group of investigators and prosecutors as they navigated the city's legal and political landscape.

The series starred Philip Winchester as Peter Stone, Jon Seda as Antonio Dawson, Joelle Carter as Laura Nagel, Monica Barbaro as Anna Valdez and the late Carl Weathers as Mark Jefferies.

As a result of the cancellation, Winchester’s character Peter Stone became a regular on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Seda’s character Antonio Dawson returned to Chicago P.D. for a couple of seasons.
