Canucks announce 2024-2025 pre-season schedule

The Vancouver Canucks announced their 2024-2025 preseason schedule on Friday afternoon. The schedule consists of two games against the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers and Seattle Kraken.

This marks the fourth straight season when the Canucks will play these three teams in the preseason, and in the second straight season, they’ll only play six games. In 2022-2023, they played the Winnipeg Jets for their seventh game, and in this year’s preseason, Vancouver played the Arizona Coyotes.

The Canucks will play a home and home with the Flames, Oilers and Kraken. Vancouver opens up their preseason at Rogers Arena against the Seattle Kraken on September 24th, followed by a back-to-back home game against the Calgary Flames. However, this game will be played in the Abbotsford Centre, home of the Abbotsford Canucks.

Vancouver will then head on the road for three games in four nights, from September 27th to September 30th. The Canucks return home for the preseason finale against the Edmonton Oilers on October 4th.

Oddly enough, the Canucks last game in the preseason is the same day as the NHL’s opening night. The New Jersey Devils and Buffalo Sabres open the season with back-to-back games in Prague, Czech Republic.

Last season, the Canucks finished the preseason with a 2-5 record. They started off by losing their first three games, including a 10-0 loss to the Flames on opening night. The club earned their first win in their fourth game against the Oilers, winning 5-2, and won their finale against the Flames, winning 3-1.
