Canucks management furious with Elias Pettersson after comments to media

Earlier today, Frank Seravalli reported that Canucks management were furious with their star Elias Pettersson after his comments to the media blaming his poor play in the second half partly on his knee injury.

Both parties seem at odds as the Canucks decision refusal to shutting him down after discovering his knee injury and then a quad injury on the same leg led to a huge decline in his statistics, overall play and playoff performance.

Pettersen felt that it was a quad tear in his leg where head coach Rick Tocchet spoke more of tendonitis which seems to have downplayed the injury.

His numbers were stark as he only accumulated 23 points through the remaining 40 games of the season after the All-Star break which also included the playoffs. He looked disconnected, disinterested which leads people to believe this was on him.

His body language and demeanor during the press conference certainly showed a player who was ready for the offseason and needed a reset.

Both parties are hoping that some time away will reset the relationship as the
Vancouver Canucks have made a huge commitment to Pettersson for the next eight years at $92.8 million.
