Cardinals threw all the options at left guard in offseason

The Arizona Cardinals believe in competition at all positions. However, one position in particular received more attention than others.

At left guard, they had four different players start in 2023. All were brought back. They also signed another veteran and drafted a player who could potentially start there, too.

The Cardinals currently have six players all as possibilities to start at left guard, although one seems to have the lead in the offseason.

Who are they?

Evan Brown

Brown is the newcomer. He was given a one-year deal as a free agent. He was a starting center the last two seasons for the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions but can play all three interior positions. He is the early frontrunner to start at left guard, based on what has been seen and said about the position.

Isaiah Adams

Adams was one of the Cardinals’ four selections in the third round of the NFL draft this year. Many believe he can start, but he is probably the plan for 2025 and beyond.

Elijah Wilkinson

Wilkinson started the most games at left guard last year with nine. He was re-signed this offseason and gets a fully guaranteed contract. It would appear that he will have a spot on the roster, whether he starts or not.

Colon, after starting four games at left guard and getting snaps there in for most of the second half of the season, was re-signed this offseason with a total of $450,000 in guarantees. He seems to be be more in line to back up Hjalte Froholdt at center for now.

O’Donnell started three games last year after being acquired via a waiver claim. He was an exclusive rights free agent who was brought back and is perhaps the least likely of this group to even make the roster.

Dennis Daley

Daley started one game last season at left guard. He is in the second year of a two-year contract. However, he might not make the team with all the other options they have.
