Carl Radke Confirms Soft Bar's Opening Date: "I Am Learning a Lot"

The Summer House cast member is opening up about his new non-alcoholic bar and café.

Carl Radke's new business, Soft Bar + Café, is opening its doors within the next few months. The Summer House cast member shared how excited he was about the business during Season 9, and is now finally seeing it come to fruition.

Carl spoke with Vulture earlier this month, where he revealed that Soft Bar's opening is "planned for August." Although he had planned for it to open sooner, he admitted to the publication that he had grown a lot throughout the journey of opening the Brooklyn business.

"I am learning a lot about certain things in this arena," he said of the new spot, which he described as "a cool place that you can go any time of day."

Carl Radke shares new updates on the progress of Soft Bar + Café

Carl has been very active on social media, showing all of the progress being made on Soft Bar before it opens. The entrepreneur took to his Instagram Story last month, where he posted a video outside of the location in Brooklyn, showing off the progress being made in painting the façade and the plans that the team has for the bar's design.

"Alright, the garage door is down. This is going to be glass at some point here soon, but making some progress. Slowly but surely," he said in the video, hinting at the bar's opening "this summer." "Can't wait to show you guys," he added.

In a May 22 post to Soft Bar's Instagram account, it was revealed that Carl was picking out the "glassware and tableware" for the business. "With our grand opening just a few months away, we can't wait for you to experience Soft Bar IRL," the business noted in the caption of the post.

What is Carl Radke's business, Soft Bar + Café?

Soft Bar + Café is located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The business inspired by his sobriety journey, which he has been very open about on Summer House. He explained the vision for the space during a May 13 appearance on the podcast, The Zac Clark Show

"I realized that I think there still needs to be a place — that looks and feels just like a cool bar [or] a café — that there's zero alcohol," he said. "But what there is is really great drinks. Functional drinks that make you feel good. Nothing mind-altering, but quality products...an experience that is elevated and fun. I'm looking for something that feels and looks like the other cool and elevated spots, but most of those places are very limited in their non-alc options. I don't drink alcohol and I don't drink coffee, so I don't exist in New York City."

He previously announced his plans to open the non-alcoholic bar during Part 2 of the Summer House Season 8 reunion, before announcing the name of the business in July 2024. "It's officially happening!" Carl wrote in a post to his Instagram Story at the time.
