Summer House fans are awaiting the reunion for season eight. So far, the cast has teased it as being super emotional and cathartic. And now, Carl Radke, who was at the center of the drama, is opening up about having wanted to work things out with Lindsay Hubbard. Plus, he provides an update on his dating life post-split.
Fans will recall that Carl and Lindsay were engaged to be married. However, he seemingly called off the wedding while the cameras were rolling. As of late, he has said this was not his intention.
In the recent After Show that Bravo released, Carl admitted that the situation could have gone differently when he and Lindsay had their final conversation.
He says, “That last conversation, I swear on the Holy Bible and everything, if [Lindsay] was like, ‘Hey, you know what? I hear you. I see that you’re upset and scared and worried. I don’t want to lose you. I want to make this work,‘ I would’ve f-cking jumped through her arms.”
Carl continues, “The embrace we could’ve had, connecting like that — we never were able to come together, in my opinion, to that level. Ultimately, I walked into that apartment the last day hoping we could get on the same page. But as soon as we started talking, nothing I could’ve said to her in any of those moments could’ve changed the outcome.”
He goes on to say that he does not feel that he called off the wedding. From his memory, he told Lindsay he had concerns about getting married at the scheduled date, and she took it as an ending.
Carl says, “From my honest-to-God memory, I expressed concern about moving forward with the wedding, and her response was, ‘You’re calling the wedding off.'”
However, Lindsay clearly views it differently and says that Carl “betrayed” her in that moment.
Carl also recently shared an update on his dating life. According to Bravo, he recently sat down with the New York Times and discussed how it’s advised that people in recovery remain single for their first 12 months. According to him, he’s “fully single for the first time in years.”
Of course, he’s been sober for quite some time. Carl also seemingly shared that he’s returning to Summer House for season nine by saying, “I’m looking forward to this summer because of my friends and getting back to having fun. Got one more summer before I’m 40.”
Summer House airs on Bravo on Thursday nights.
