Carrie Underwood Escapes Terrifying Swarm of Bees on Her Farm

Carrie Underwood has been sharing highlights of life on the farm, but one moment looked like it was a scene straight out of a horror movie. The “American Idol” season 23 judge was picking blueberries when a huge swarm of bees approached. Thankfully, she escaped unharmed.

Carrie Underwood Narrowly Escapes Bee Swarm

On June 29, Underwood took to her Instagram Stories to give fans a look at her peaceful farm life.

She started with a photo of a lamb, writing, “Weekend vibes … Baby J!”

From there, she showed some of the bounty on the farm, including a bowl stuffed full of squash and a pile of blueberries. “I picked about 8 gallons this weekend!” she said of the berries.

The next scene was a bit scary, however, as she noted, “Had to get out of the orchard when the bees started swarming.” She followed it up by showing a cluster of bees that “landed on a blueberry bush.” Underwood shared, “Maybe we can catch them tomorrow if they’re still there.”

The “American Idol” alum also showed off some cucumbers, with a note, “Guess I’d better start making pickles,” and a look at fresh chicken eggs.

Other photos included a bright sunflower and tomatoes ripening on the vine, as well as a gorgeous sunset.

Underwood later showed off “things I made today,” including blueberry pie filling, pink lemonade blueberry jam, and pink lemonade blueberry muffins, made from her freshly picked berries. She also made sourdough bread and an appetizer with garden tomatoes and basil.

The singer added, “Oh, and a peach blueberry cobbler! All fruit from the orchard, of course!”

Underwood Has Been Busy With Food Canning

The “American Idol” judge doesn’t let a bit of the food go to waste, as she recently demonstrated with her impressive canning skills.

On June 9, Underwood took to Instagram to share a photo of her canning efforts.

“My boys were away for the weekend so I decided to get rid of some of the stuff that was in the big freezer. Canning is the perfect way to make use of everything and save myself some time later on when I need a quick meal!” Underwood explained in the caption.

She continued, “I put about 35 (??) ish pheasants into some soup and pot pie filling, got rid of some of last year’s black and blueberries and made some cobbler filling and tried to do something with all the plums we’ve got growing here. Not sure if I made jam or plum butter or some sort of sauce out of it, but I’ll figure out something to do with it!”

The singer added, “I feel accomplished!!! Yay me!”
