CBS Announces 'Fire Country' Spinoff 'Sheriff Country' to Premiere This Fall

CBS is expanding the Fire Country universe with an exciting new spinoff titled Sheriff Country, set to premiere this fall. The new drama will star Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox, a tough and intuitive law enforcer introduced in Season 2 of Fire Country during the episode “Alert the Sheriff.”

Sheriff Country will follow Mickey as she tackles criminal activity in the small Northern California town of Edgewater. The show promises to deliver gripping investigations while also delving into Mickey’s complicated family ties. She is the half-sister of Sharon Leone (played by Diane Farr) and the aunt of Bode Leone (Max Thieriot), adding a deep emotional layer to the narrative. Mickey is determined to clean up Edgewater while navigating the weight of her family’s complicated past — including long-buried secrets and personal betrayals.

Before the official spinoff premieres, Mickey will return in the Fire Country Season 3 episode titled “Dirty Money,” airing April 4. In that episode, she teams up with Bode to investigate the shocking murder of her father, Wes Fox — a former convict with ties to illegal cannabis operations and drug trafficking. Their investigation uncovers a larger criminal network that threatens the safety of the entire community.

The introduction of Sheriff Country reflects the growing popularity of Fire Country and CBS’s confidence in building a broader franchise. With Morena Baccarin at the helm and a strong character-driven plot, Sheriff Country is shaping up to be one of fall’s most anticipated new dramas. Fans can expect powerful storytelling, emotional twists, and a new layer of justice coming to Edgewater.
