Chase's Expensive Watch Goes Viral

The Cincinnati Bengals took longer than necessary to make the biggest move of their offseason, and it cost them millions of dollars in the process. Fans are simply happy to know that receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are here for the long haul.

In March, the Bengals signed Higgins to a four-year, $115 million deal to end his marathon extension talks. Concurrently, they inked Chase to a four-year, $161 million deal, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the sport – surpassing AFC North rival Myles Garrett in the process.

Chase is now the richest receiver in football, and he isn’t afraid to flaunt it.

The Bengals receiver flexed his new contract with an expensive watch on Instagram.

Perhaps the only person happier that Chase got paid was his quarterback, Joe Burrow, who knows a thing or two about massive NFL contracts.

"You never know how somebody's career is going to work out," Burrow told the team's official website. "So we might be together until the end of somebody's career or we might move on after that.

Bengals exec wants to re-sign Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins to big deals

"But for the next four years, you know what you're going to get from us and we're going to be right here. We're paying the right guys. Guys who work really hard for what they have. Guys who aren't going to get complacent or anything like that. Guys who really care about the product they put on the field and care about the fans and the organization and the people in the locker room. We've got the right guys."

Paying Chase is a win – keeping Higgins and Chase together maintains Cincinnati’s status as a Super Bowl contender. Things got ugly in 2024, largely at the hands of a porous defense, but nobody wanted to play the Bengals in the playoffs.

Together Burrow, Chase, and Higgins remain the most potent trio in the league.

"They're two of the best players at what they do," Burrow said. "When you can re-sign guys like that and keep them around for an extended period of time, that gives you the best chance to go out and win Super Bowls and win a lot of games and win division championships. We got two of our best players re-signed. That's a big deal. Plus, Mike (Gesicki). We're doing the right things."

With everyone on the offense paid and primed for takeoff, it’s time to focus on paying edge rusher Trey Hendrickson and getting Burrow back to where he belongs – the thick of the AFC playoff picture.

"We know how defenses feel when they step on the field against us. We feel it when we're out there. As long as we continue to put in the work to be the best we can be, the sky's the limit for us."
