Chelsea Shares Why She Really Left Southern Charm and If She Would Return to TV

Since her time on Southern Charm came to an end in 2019, Chelsea Meissner has led a quieter life away from the cameras, and she's also become a mom to a daughter.

The South Carolina resident let fans in on some long-kept secrets about her departure from the show — and where she stands with the cast now — during her first-ever Instagram Q&A on March 27.

Chelsea revealed that she left Southern Charm after Season 6 because she was planning to move across the world.

"I had plans to move to New Zealand for a year, so I chose that opportunity over the show," she said in one Instagram Story, though she did not elaborate on what those "plans" were. "Those plans fell through, but the time off the show made me realize how much I enjoyed my peace and privacy. It was fun while it lasted."

Would Chelsea Meissner return to reality TV?

Chelsea has some interest in coming back to the small screen — though not exactly to Southern Charm. (In addition to appearing on the Bravo series, Chelsea was also a finalist on Season 24 of Survivor.) "I've been asked that so many times and I really don't know the answer," she responded when a fan asked if she would take another try at the competition show. "I had a good bit of health concerns when I got off Survivor. My colon almost ruptured, I lost all my hair, didn't have a period for [six] months. It's intense."

As for if she'd ever consider doing a home renovation-type show, she noted, "They've approached me but nothing has ever come to fruition. Im not in a place to dedicate time/energy into such an intense filming schedule."

She would, however, consider taking a turn on Peacock's The Traitors. "Now that's a show I would consider.. but they would probably eat me alive," she said. "Also, Deal or No Deal Island."Chelsea Meissner takes a selfie of herself with her cell phone

Is Chelsea Meissner still friends with anyone from Southern Charm?

Though Chelsea's time on Southern Charm has come to an end, she made (and kept) friends for life from the show. Chelsea is still very close with fellow show alums Cameran Eubanks Wimberly and Naomie Olindo — and Chelsea shared a photo from one of their "much-needed" reunions back in April 2024.

"[Cameran Wimberly] and [Naomie Olindo] are best friends," she shared in a Story from her Instagram Q&A. She revealed what their big plans are for April 2025.

"The three of us are taking a trip together next month!" she added. "Also, Cam is my daughter's godmother."
