Cheryl Hines is opening up about her marriage to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. nearly one year after his sexting scandal with journalist Olivia Nuzzi.
Hines refused to comment on the alleged affair directly, but she did skirt around the topic as she walked through a series of questions regarding some of her husband’s scandals in an interview with the Wall Street Journal published Tuesday.
“I don’t think there’s any point to going through every rumor and headline to try to defend or explain it,” the actress said.
“Bobby and I talk about everything, so that’s how we move through everything, and we’re really good friends, and we trust each other.”
She continued, “One would deduce that we love each other and are still married and whatever we’ve been through is behind us.”
When asked how he felt knowing that his wife, 59, would inevitably get roped into his controversies, the politician, 71 — who also took part in the interview — told the outlet it’s impossible to control.
“There is no end, and if you get caught into responding to it then it drags you into low vibrations, and the trick is to try to stay in the high vibrations.”
Reports of Kennedy’s alleged affair with Nuzzi surfaced in September 2024 after the journalist admitted to the scandal in a statement.
While Nuzzi denied ever striking up a physical connection with the former 2024 presidential candidate, she explained that the “nature” of their communications had become “personal.”
Sources told The Post that the Washington writer and the nephew of former president John F. Kennedy allegedly sexted.
Hines stayed silent on the scandal for months, neglecting to address it. Though, an insider soon after shared that the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star was “embarrassed” by the betrayal.
“She’s embarrassed because he got caught,” the source told People in October 2024, adding that the two had “barely spoken” following the incident.
Around the same time, three other women came forward all claiming to have been involved in some sort of romantic relationship with Kennedy within the previous year.
While it was previously thought that Kennedy’s marriage would be headed for divorce, the couple are still going strong — with some strict stipulations.
In March, a source told the Daily Mail that Hines ordered her husband to immediately relocate her from Los Angeles to Washington, DC, where he is serving as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services under President Trump’s administration.
“Cheryl doesn’t feel Bobby can be trusted one iota living on his own, in D.C., even part-time, with so many attractive women and Kennedy groupies around, as he gets settled in his powerful new position,” an insider told the outlet.
“So she’s given him a strict ultimatum –- move me or else,” the source continued.
However, the actress has reportedly made no plans to leave Hollywood yet.
