EXCLUSIVE: Tracy Spiridakos (Chicago P.D.) has been set as the lead of the new USA Network series Anna Pigeon, from showrunner Morwyn Brebner (Rookie Blue, Saving Hope), set to premiere in 2026.
Anna Pigeon (Spiridakos) is a former city slicker who became a park ranger after a devastating loss changed the trajectory of her life forever. While Anna tries to outrun her demons, her focus turns to solving crimes that have taken place within national park grounds, no matter who or what gets in her way. The series is based on the novels by Nevada Barr.
This is the second new series from USA Network, following The Rainmaker, starring John Slattery, premiering on August 15. The Rainmaker marked the network’s first new scripted series in a while as part of a planned relaunch as a destination for scripted originals.
Lea Thompson directs and executive produces alongside Brebner, Todd Berger, Brett Burlock, Sonia Hosko, Julie Di Cresce, Peter Emerson, Gordon Gilbertson, Tom Cox and Jordy Randall. Leslie Cowan is producing. Produced by Cineflix Studios, December Films and Seven24 Films. Cineflix Rights is handling international sales. In Canada, Anna Pigeon is Bell Media’s first co-commission with Versant’s USA Network.
Spiridakos joins Anna Pigeon in her first major role following her exit from NBC‘s Chicago P.D. after seven seasons with the police procedural in the role of Haley Upton. She joined the series during its fourth season in a recurring role before being promoted to a series regular from seasons 5 to 11.
At the time of her exit, she told Deadline, “I love this group of people, everybody from cast and crew, producers, everybody. This was a really hard decision to make. I’ve been on the show for 7½ years. So, I was curious about what else was out there and wanted to switch it up. That was kind of it, but it was hard. It was very bittersweet and emotional.”
During her time on Chicago P.D., Spiradakos played the same character across the other two One Chicago shows: Chicago Fire and Chicago Med, during special crossover events.
Before her work on P.D., Spiridakos played the series regular role of Charlie Matheson on the NBC post-apocalyptic series Revolution across the show’s two seasons. For her portrayal, she received a Saturn Award Nomination for Best Actress on Television. Her additional TV credits include the CW’s Supernatural, Syfy’s Being Human, Showtime’s Episodes, A&E’s Bates Motel and MacGyver for CBS. Spiridakos was born in Canada and spent a portion of her childhood in her native Greece. She is repped by Gersh and Authentic Talent and Literary.
