CHICAGO P.D. FINALE: Burzek Wedding Teased – Stars Reveal the Pressure Behind Their Big Day!

Chicago P.D. Season 12, Episode 22, "Vows," features two major arcs as Reid (Shawn Hatosy) pursues his desire to blow the Intelligence Unit out of the water. In better news, Burzek are getting married! "Forced to cease operations while under investigation by Internal Affairs, Intelligence goes off-book to bring down Reid.

Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) and Burgess (Marina Squerciati) consider delaying their nuptials amid the uncertainty," the episode's logline teases. Despite its negative message, photos from the episode reveal that the wedding does happen. "It was in a cute little church, and my real Pops, K.C. Fluegler, was there! And it should come as no surprise Marina looked shockingly beautiful," John Flueger shared with TV Insider, further confirming what his costar, Toya Turner, also shared about the bride. "[Burgess] looks gorgeous," she said. Getting Burgess to look beautiful for her wedding day was a stressful process, Squerciati admitted. She shared:

"Fans got involved with the dress, and it was a lot of pressure! Kim wouldn’t do strapless, but I wanted the dress to be sexy. Intelligence is an amazing job, but we are always buttoned up. I wanted Kim to let her hair down a little and have some bling!"

Choosing the dress was a long process, as Squerciati teased in a BTS look at the fitting session. From a high-neckline to a deep V-neckline and strapped dresses, there were a lot of options, but they went with the best one. Burgess looks beautiful and happy on her wedding day as her closest friends attend the wedding. Their daughter Makayla (Ramona Edith Williams) is the flower girl while Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) is Adam's best man. The TV wedding has some similarities to Squerciati's real wedding. "I walk myself down the aisle, as I did in real life," she revealed.

Intelligence Might Be In for Major Changes in 'Chicago P.D.' Season 13

In their professional lives, Adam and Kim are on the path of a fierce battle between Deputy Chief Reid and Sergeant Hank Voight (Jason Beghe). The former bested them and took Burgess' badge, while the rest of the unit was suspended. "Some of us will lose our badges and the rest, as I understand it, will be bumped significantly down to jobs normally reserved for PO’s fresh from the academy," John Flueger said, previewing where the team might be headed if Reid succeeds. However, they put up a fight by working in the shadows. "Burgess doesn’t have a badge anymore, but I assume she’ll get involved in the fray," Squerciati added.
