Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy) and Hank Voight's (Jason Beghe) dangerous game continues in Chicago P.D. season 12, episode 22, which is the final episode of the season.
When Chicago P.D. premiered in 2014, fans were introduced to the members of the Intelligence Unit, and over more than a decade, these clever characters have been ready for anything and everything. The series has done an excellent job bringing in minor characters like Nicole Silver (Jules Wilcox) who make a huge and powerful impact while focusing on the IU officers who risk their lives daily.
Both Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med have had compelling seasons, and now it's time to see if the Intelligence Unit can win against Reid... or if the season 12 villain is going to come out even stronger.
How To Watch Chicago P.D. Season 12, Episode 22, "Vows"
Chicago P.D. season 12, episode 22, "Vows" will air Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 at 10 p.m. E.T. on NBC. Fans can also stream the episode the next day, Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, on Peacock.
The official episode description for Chicago P.D. season 12, episode 22 reads:
In the previous episode, Voight attempts to catch Reid in the act as Voight knows the truth now. Then, Reid beats Voight at his own game and decides to mess with the Intelligence Unit. At the end of season 12, episode 21, Reid had Dante Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) and Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) fired.
The Chicago P.D. season 12 finale continues this dark and difficult storyline as the Intelligent Unit is now being looked into, and fans aren't sure who will be able to stay on. After watching Reid manipulate his position of power and undermine Voight throughout all of season 12, viewers are ready to see a solid and logical resolution. Thankfully, the episode description says the characters are focused on winning against Reid. Hopefully, the IU officers will get their jobs back, Reid will face the consequences of his actions, and Voight can move on.
"I was hoping that Reid would improve and become a legit ally/friend to Voight especially after Voight saved him from getting shot in one of the previous episodes. It's unfortunate that Reid just keeps getting worse. He cannot be redeemed."
Redditor @TakasuXAiaska wrote in another thread:
"How ironic. Voight used to be like Reid too."
Some season finales aren't as exciting and fast-paced as fans expected, and viewers wanted more action and storylines being wrapped up in The Rookie season 7 finale. However, the Chicago P.D. season 12 finale can be satisfying if the Intelligence Unit gets a happy ending and Reid is forced to stop hurting them. Otherwise, it won't feel like a true season finale, and fans won't be satisfied.
The Chicago P.D. Season 12 Finale Will Also Focus On Burgess And Ruzek's Wedding
As PEOPLE reported, Marina Squerciati shared some wedding dresses on Instagram and was interested in hearing which ones viewers liked. Squerciati said:
"It had been so long, right? Three engagements, 12 years. I really felt like the fans deserved a say. That was really important to me. I wasn't allowed to post the dress that ultimately was picked, but I really did take into consideration what the fans liked and then went in that direction."
