The New York Yankees have had a strong May in 2025. They've won 16 of their last 20 games, including a sweep against the Los Angeles Angels, and were 15-6 in May.
The Yankees are currently on a five-game winning streak and have a spate of stats backing up how good their form has been. The Yankees' offense has led the American League in several categories:

Given all of this context, it is but natural for Aaron Judge and co to be fancied as the top team in the American League. MLB analyst Chris Rose is, in fact, prepared to go even further in his predictions.
According to Rose, the Yankees and the Detroit Tigers have already sealed their divisions. Speaking on Baseball Today, Rose pointed out how the Yankees have a vice-like grip on the AL East division.
"I think two of the three American League divisions are already settled. And I don't think anybody will wrestle the lead away from the New York Yankees in the AL East, or the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central. I think both of these teams are significantly better than any other team in their respective divisions."
Rose then added a kicker:
"You know what, I'll say this about the Yankees. I'll take it a step further if you want me to throw a little bit on it. They win the division by a dozen games."
The stats show that Rose's faith in the Yankees is fully warranted. Despite some pitching issues in the initial weeks, their run in the past month is a clear indicator of how dominant they are in the American League. It would be shocking if the Yankees didn't win their division. They are well and truly primed to take a dozen-game lead to the playoffs.
