Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow Brings Up Concern About Wrist Ahead of Week 13 Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has been putting up big numbers of late, though, those have not translated into victories.

Nevertheless, he is relied upon by the Bengals to deliver another solid performance this coming Sunday when Cincinnati hosts the Pittsburgh Steelers at Paycor Stadium in Ohio for the first time in the 2024 NFL regular season.

This game will also be the first time that Burrow will see action against the backdrop of freezing conditions. Making things even more interesting, at least for Burrow, is his surgically repaired wrist that has yet to be tested this season in such atmospheric conditions.

“That’s a question that remains to be answered,” Burrow said of how the cold weather could impact his game. “I haven’t experienced a cold weather game with that yet. In the past when I’ve had injuries, cold weather does affect it, so we’ll find out. Maybe I’ll have a heater on the sideline or something. I haven’t really thought about that yet, but we’ll see.”

The Bengals are carrying just a 4-7 record into Week 14 after back-to-back losses to the Baltimore Ravens and Los Angeles Chargers — both at home — in Week 10 and Week 11, respectively. In those games, Burrow passed for 784 yards and seven touchdowns against zero interceptions while completing 58.49 percent of his throws. Overall this season thus far, the former LSU Tigers star signal-caller has 3,028 passing yards and 27 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Regardless of the temperature in the Steelers game, which is expected to go somewhere from 30 degrees down to 18 degrees, Cincinnati needs a win to give their dimming playoff hopes a big shot in the arm.
