Cleveland Browns may have put the writing on the wall for one Pro Bowler’s future on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft

Cleveland Browns have now used two Day 2 picks on the offensive side of the football. After being so bad last season when they went 3-14 on that side of the ball, the Browns have to make an impact in the draft there.

After finding Quinshon Judkins in the second round out of Ohio State, Cleveland is again keeping another player in Ohio. They happen to be bringing him back to Northeast Ohio as well.

Browns may have found a replacement for one of their Pro Bowlers in Harold Fannin Jr. out of Bowling Green

With the No. 67 pick in the draft and in the third round, the Browns kept Fannin in Ohio and brought the 6-foot-4 Canton McKinley product back to the Northeast part. Fannin broke out in a huge way and led the nation in receiving in his first season as a tight end. Fannin is one of the youngest players in the draft and could eventually replace David Njoku.

Njoku is heading into a contract year in 2025 and will be a free agent after the season. Njoku was a Pro Bowler in 2022 with a career year but was limited to 11 games in 2024 with 505 yards. Cleveland could look to bring him back but Fannin gives them a player with a high ceiling potentially at the position.

With Kevin Stefanski back calling plays in 2025, the Browns should have two tight ends on the field often.

Harold Fannin Jr. Scouting Report

Harrold Fannin Jr., TE, Bowling Green

Age: 20 (07/20/2004)

A to Z Sports Expected Draft Position: Pre-Draft Round Projection

“ One of the youngest players in this class, Harold Fannin Jr. of Bowling Green is coming off a historically productive season. The former unranked linebacker recruit set FBS records for receptions and yards for a tight end in a single season in 2024. It's fitting he was the MAC's first tight end to ever win the conference's Offensive Player of the Year Award.” — Ian Valentino, A to Z Sports

Career projection: Boom or bust starter potential

Going away

Fannin won’t be forced into a huge role in 2025 and will have to battle to get touches in Cleveland’s offense as the second tight end if he wins that job. However, I could see him eventually being a guy who catches quite a few passes over the course of the season from Joe Flacco specifically.
