The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Wednesday, July 2, reveals that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will face a tragic Cole Howard (J. Eddie Peck) crisis while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) decides an ASAP flight to Nice is necessary.
At Newman Media, Adam will speak with Victoria about Cole, who’s been transferred back to Memorial since the doctors did all they could do for him in Chicago.
Adam will assure Victoria that he’ll keep Cole in his thoughts, so she’ll appreciate that and the fact that Adam’s stepped up while Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) are out of town.
There’ll be some talk about not being able to reach the Newmans who traveled to Nice and how unsettling that is.
Adam will also give Victoria updates on Arabesque buying up properties all over Genoa City, including the athletic club – which wasn’t even officially for sale.
Plus, Arabesque scooped up some Chancellor divisions that Nikki sold off when she took over, so that’ll be especially troubling to Adam and Victoria. It’ll seem like Aristotle Dumas is plotting a big move.
At Crimson Lights, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will catch up with Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), but he’ll mostly dodge her questions – especially the ones about Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Cane will mention Lily being off in France, so Chelsea will ask how Cane is aware of that. After Cane admits to knowing Aristotle Dumas quite well, that’ll leave Chelsea even more curious.
However, Cane will ultimately insist he has to head to the airport – though he’ll assure Chelsea that all her questions will be answered soon.
Once Chelsea meets up with Adam, she’ll fill him in on her odd Cane encounter and admit he seems different.
Cane’s cryptic comments will leave Chelsea weirded out and wondering what’s really up with him.
Adam will pass along the news about Dumas’ latest purchases as they continue to mull over this whole Cane situation.
Since Cane left town about six years ago hoping to track down Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers), Adam and Chelsea will consider the idea that maybe Colin is Dumas.
There’ll be speculation about a massive scam, especially now that Cane has shown his face in Genoa City after all this time.
Regardless, Adam will think Victor needs to hear the latest information – especially the part about Dumas buying up the sold-off Chancellor divisions.
Since Adam can’t reach Victor by phone or any other way, he’ll resolve to fly to Nice and find a way to get the info to him in person.
Next on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) will stumble across Devon Winters (Bryton James) getting a drink in the maze center since he won’t be able to sleep.
Devon will throw plenty of angry questions at Amanda and wonder if Colin is really even dead, but Amanda will insist he’s really reaching.
Despite Devon’s attempt to get to the bottom of Cane’s agenda, he’ll go back to his train car empty-handed and focus on his romance with Abby Winters (Melissa Ordway) for a while.
Back with Amanda, she’ll be relieved when Carter (Vincent Stalba) appears and tells her that Mr. Ashby is on his way back.
Amanda will also be surprised since she thought Cane had more to do on this trip, but Carter will insist he accomplished what he needed to accomplish.
Nearby, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will look intrigued as she eavesdrops on Amanda and Carter’s discussion.
Back in GC, Victoria will meet up with Claire at Crimson Lights before they’re both summoned to Memorial ASAP.
Claire and Victoria will sit by Cole’s bedside, so he’ll wake up and ominously admit he’s glad they made it back in time.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Cole will soon have some things to get off his chest since he’ll believe the end his near, so stay tuned!
