While Colts fans were celebrating Christmas on Wednesday, they got a familiar, if unpleasant surprise when quarterback Anthony Richardson showed up on the injury report.
Listed as dealing with back and foot problems, Richardson would not have practiced Wednesday if the Colts had held one. He again did not participate Thursday, raising serious concerns on if he can go on Sunday against the Giants
The Colts aren’t panicking just yet however, as there is reportedly belief that Richardson could still play, as first reported by Stephen Holder of ESPN.
During the Thursday edition of The Ride With JMV, Mike Chappell of FOX59 and CBS4 joined the show to provide some clarity on Richardson’s status, and if he thinks he’ll be under center against New York.
“I think he plays. I mean we’ll see, it’s easy for us to sit here, but Friday’s always the, especially late in the season, it’s always the tell-tale [sign]. I think he will at least be limited tomorrow [at practice], maybe full, but I think he plays. This is just one where you give guys, at this time of the season, extra rest…it’s just the wear and tear. I think he’s going to be okay…I know how he is now, how aware of the perception of injuries. Now if he can’t play, he’s not going to play, but I think this is simply maintenance.”
