One of the biggest and most controversial stories of the NFL offseason has been the quarterback competition between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones with the Indianapolis Colts.
Now that OTAs are taking place and minicamps will be opening up in a couple weeks, fans are finally being supplied with the captivating updates they’ve been waiting for.
There were reports on Wednesday when OTAs opened that rookie tight end Tyler Warren was exuding his talent already.
While there was no specific mention of Richardson or Jones, it can be inferred that they had decent days if the Penn State star was all the rave.

Head coach Shane Steichen has made it abundantly clear that each man will have an equal opportunity to win the job and he is making good on that promise so far.
He spoke to the media on Wednesday afternoon following the Colts’ first practice and expressed that Richardson and Jones will alternate first and second team reps throughout the summer.
“I think every year the fundamentals and technique continue to get better… I’ve seen strides in those areas since the spring and into practice today,” said Steichen.
This should be music to the ears of Indianapolis fans because Richardson’s mechanics are one of the biggest reasons for his early struggles.
Arguably his biggest flaw is his inconsistent accuracy, but we’ve seen from the biggest stars in the game like Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Baltimore Ravens superstar Lamar Jackson that tweaking your mechanics can make a world of difference.
Each of the two MVPs became significantly better passers once they broke down their mechanics to the base and rebuilt them.
It’s too early to know whether Richardson has made that large of an improvement or not, but this praise from his coach is certainly a great sign for the future.
