The Indianapolis Colts will be without wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. on Sunday, and the news might be even worse than that for the team.
Pittman has a back injury that is significant enough to keep him out for multiple weeks, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. The wide receiver could even land on injured reserve, but that decision has not been made yet.
The injury largely comes out of nowhere, as Pittman played Sunday’s game without incident. He popped up on the injury report Wednesday and now appears to be facing a multi-week absence.
Pittman has had a relatively quiet start to the 2024 season, with a modest 238 receiving yards and one touchdown in five games. In 2023, he posted his second career 1,000-yard season while comfortably leading the team with 1,152 yards and four touchdowns. He signed a significant contract extension during the offseason.
