The Indianapolis Colts have several major decisions on the horizon that they hope the 2025 season will help clarify for them, guiding their future decisions.
One of which is whether or not to give their starting left tackle, Bernhard Raimann, a massive extension. Their LT is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and he has taken a significant step forward each season since being drafted in the third round by the Colts in the 2022 NFL Draft. He didn't quite grade out as a top 10 OT in a recent ESPN poll of NFL executives, coaches, and scouts, but he did get a shout-out as an honorable mention.

Honorable Mention: Bernhard Raimann
"He is a good example of sticking with a player. He started slowly but has continued to improve and was really good last year." -- Veteran NFL scout

Raimann has positioned himself well to cash in on a big payday as long as he can take another step forward in 2025. It would probably be in the Colts' best interest to enter negotiations with Raimann now, hopefully saving money annually on his next deal while they still can. However, Raimann has continued to improve through his first three seasons, so why wouldn't he want to bet on himself and hold off on signing a contract, allowing him to do the same thing in 2025 and potentially increase his price tag?
The Colts let two veteran offensive linemen walk this offseason in Will Fries and Ryan Kelly. A popular opinion for why they did this was that they were preparing to give Raimann a hefty paycheck, with him entering the final year of his contract. The hope amongst fans was that Raimann would continue to fly under the radar while also playing at a high level. That ship seems to have sailed. Others around the NFL know the Colts have a budding star on their hands in Raimann, and I believe teams would line up with lucrative offers if he were to hit the open market next offseason.
