Connor Bedard just turned 20 years old, so that means he can't tack on anymore points as a teenager. But given what he did on a bad Chicago Blackhawks team for his first two seasons in the NHL, it was very impressive.
Bedard topped a lot of talented active players for the most points recorded by a player before the age of 20, only falling short of two - Sidney Crosby and Patrik Laine.
Health and when a player's birthday is plays a factor and Bedard missed 14 games which would have moved him up to the second spot amongst active players. He recorded 128 points as a teenager in the NHL, Laine recorded 134, and Crosby had 222. Crosby's numbers weren't being touched, but seven points in 14 games for Bedard is entirely doable considering he has a 0.85 points-per-game in his career so far.
Bedard finished with more points before turning 20 than some elite players and future Hall of Fame players like Jeff Skinner (107), Steven Stamkos (107), Nathan MacKinnon (101), Andrei Svechnikov (98), Connor McDavid (98), Matt Duchene (98), and Patrick Kane (94).
While it is a similar Blackhawks team, it is a new season and everyone is back to a level playing field once next season starts. It is a new chapter for Bedard and he is only going to get better.
