Cornerback Controversy? Packers’ Philosophy on Slot vs. Outside CBs Raises Eyebrows

Something I have seen that Packers fans and even content creators have yet to question or talk about is do the Packers view their outside corners different from their nickel/slot corners? After the drafting of Javon Bullard last year, his selection threw me for a bit of a loop. He did not fit the Packers thresholds that I had known at safety or corner. So, I did a deep dive to figure out what I had missed. It  took me maybe a few days to figure out. I’ve seen a lot of mock drafts by major media members sending a player that would play the nickel spot if he were in Green Bay.

Now I want to educate Packers fans and content creators as to why that is and why it wont happen. So lets get into the history and the data of how the Green Bay Packers draft outside corners versus nickel corners.
