“It is definitely one of my favorite events of the year for us.”
The Bruins made their annual Halloween hospital visit on Monday dressed as the charming and colorful creatures from Pixar’s “Monsters Inc.”
The players’ trips to Mass General for Children and Boston’s Children Hospital were part of what has become a beloved yearly tradition amongst kids, players, hospital staff, and even fans of the team.
Brad Marchand played the part of character Mike Wazowski, while Jeremy Swayman and Charlie Coyle took turns as Sully. In past years, the Bruins cast featured as characters from “Barbie,” “Toy Story,” and more.
The players spent their time meeting with young fans, signing posters, taking photos and bringing lots of smiles to the hospitals. Swayman shared a “goalie hug” with a 12-year-old fellow goalie as the team spread the Halloween spirit to fans and non-fans alike.
“It is definitely one of my favorite events of the year for us,” said Swayman. “We’re so lucky to be a part of it.”
“It’s our pleasure to come here,” Hampus Lindholm, dressed as Sheri Squibbles, told reporters. “It also brings so much joy to us as a team and players to see those kids smile.”
