The Washington Commanders did not match the offer that the Las Vegas Raiders gave to star safety Jeremy Chinn, so the team will be without him in the 2025 season.
But they could consider bringing back a fan favorite to fill the void.
In a recent article by Dean Jones of Riggo's Rag, he proposes that the Commanders could bring back defensive back Kendall Fuller for a third stint with the team.
"The league is littered with corners who switch the backend to prolong their careers... The Commanders have five starting-caliber cornerbacks as things stand. Fuller coming in would provide versatility," Jones wrote. "Moving him to the safety position brings its fair share of benefits. Whether it's something Washington or the player would contemplate is another matter."
Fuller recently turned 30 years old, but still played some solid football this past season with the Miami Dolphins.
He finished 2024 with 50 total tackles and seven pass deflections. He was also able to get in the backfield and record a tackle for loss, and he did all of this while appearing in just 11 games.
The Commanders allowed the third-fewest passing yards in the NFL this past season as a result of their solid secondary. But losing a player of Chinn's caliber takes a toll on a team, and they could look for someone to replace him as a result.
If Washington decides they want to bring in someone through free agency, then a veteran and familiar face in Fuller could be a very intriguing option.
