Over the last 10 seasons of Southern Charm, plus appearances on Summer House and Winter House, Craig Conover has been on a journey. But one thing that will never change: His endless quotability. In fact, Craig's "I'm a lawyer and a storyteller" quote from the Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 13 inspired our newest merch drop.
Catching up on Season 10 or starting Southern Charm from the beginning? Here's the context: It's not a spoiler to say there is tension between Craig and longtime bestie and business partner, Austen Kroll. During a group trip to the Bahamas, where Shep Rose intended to spend quality time with his girlfriend, Sienna Evans, conversation gets heated.
Amidst Shep's awkward interactions with Sienna, the rest of the group starts discussing her behavior and Shep's decisions. As Craig delivers some tough love on the matter, we see Austen confront him in front of the other cast members. "You are an embellisher, and you know this," Austen tells the Sewing Down South founder, about his history of repeating incomplete truths to friends.
"I'm a lawyer and a storyteller!" retorts Craig.
Fortunately for these two, the conversation leads to an overdue heart-to-heart, where Craig reveals some personal details about his relationship to alcohol. The two share a heartfelt moment — with tears and hugs — and their relationship looks to be on the mend.
But of course, the season isn't over yet.

Hey, he's not wrong. Craig did indeed pass the South Carolina Bar Exam in 2017 and was sworn in to the South Carolina bar association in 2018. While the early seasons of the show followed Craig's fledgling law career, some setbacks — including a late graduation from law school due to an unfinished thesis paper — prevented him from moving forward.
During a Southern Charm Season 3 reunion episode, Craig admitted to Shep that he initially fudged mailing his application to sit for the bar. Still, that was years ago, and Craig went on to find other passions in life, including remodeling homes and crafting unique home decor for the inside.
At the end of the day, though, he's always our Craig. The one who will happily explain the importance of a tin foil hat to those who are conspiracy theory-curious. The one who knows exactly who he is and isn't afraid to show it. And of course, the one so iconic that Shep couldn't help but name his adorable dog after him.
