Craig Revel Horwood left This Morning hosts Cat Deeley, and Ben Shephard flabbergasted after he threatened to air the real reason behind Bruno Tonioli's Strictly Come Dancing exit and then subtly hinted at what it might have been over.
Back in 2022, Bruno, a popular judge on the BBC favourite, left fans heartbroken when he announced his departure from the programme after nearly two decades.
At the time, Bruno cited his reasons for leaving were down to the Covid-19 pandemic and travelling, with increasing difficulty of juggling his commitments on both the UK and US versions of the show.
However, according to his fellow judge Craig, it might not be as it seems. The BBC judge threatened to air "what really happened" in a tell-all Q&A session as part of his new Revelations tour.
Craig lifted the lid on the real reason Bruno left Strictly Craig marked a milestone birthday this year, turning 60. With the Strictly judge embarking on a new decade, he wanted to switch things up with his career and try his hand at singing, something he'd always been passionate about.
With his mum spurring on his singing, Craig decided it was time to unleash a new album and tour—Revelations—that will see him pay homage to the likes of Shirley Bassey and Ursula The Sea Witch, with songs from The Little Mermaid featured in his show.
On This Morning, he was chatting to Cat and Ben about what fans could expect from his upcoming tour, when he unveiled an unknown detail. He announced: "I will be doing a Q&A and I am hoping that people will ask me the hardest questions."
Ben was amazed and wanted to clarify, asking: "So you're literally going to open up the floor to the audience that comes in and say 'anything you want to ask?'"
To which Craig replied: "Yes, they can, and they can also do it through texting, and they'll text my lovely pianist Ben Goddard, who's gorgeous, and we're doing a couple of duets together, so it's not just me and Shirley Bassey and Ursula."
Craig told the hosts "money" could have been the real reason for his co-star's Strictly exit in 2022 He reiterated: I am accepting anything, I will answer any question I am asked, whether it's on Strictly, my personal life, anything."
Cat replied, "Wow," and probed, "Are you telling a few showbiz stories along the way?" but was left astounded by Craig's honest answer.
He began reeling off some of the tidbits he was prepared to discuss on tour, telling the hosts, "I'll be talking about what Shirley Ballas was really like. I'll be talking about why Bruno really left. " He paused for a moment, adding, "No one knows that, do they?" as the presenters gasped.
"Ohh, that might have been for money," confirmed Craig with a huge smile on his face.
It seemed his comments were intended in good spirit as the Strictly judge then declared his "love" for Bruno, reminiscing about a travel show they'd been on together, and stating: "It was spectacular."
