Curtis Samuel Sends Super Bowl Message Loud and Clear: “I Came Here to Finish What I Started”

Buffalo, NY— New season, new fire. Veteran wide receiver Curtis Samuel isn’t just joining the Buffalo Bills—he’s storming in with a promise: to help end Buffalo’s Super Bowl drought once and for all.

In a passionate appearance on WGR 550’s The Instigators, the 28-year-old wideout declared, “I’ve made big plays on big stages. But I’ve never lifted that trophy. The Bills gave me this shot—and I’m all in. This team’s got fire. This city’s got heart. And I came here to finish what I started.”

Signed to a 3-year, $24 million deal in 2024, Samuel brings blazing 4.31 speed and a career total of 251 receptions, 3,230 yards, and 19 touchdowns. But after an underwhelming 2024 season (31 receptions, 315 yards, 1 TD), doubts linger. Minicamp timing issues with QB Josh Allen only added to the questions.

Still, head coach Sean McDermott remains optimistic: “Curtis has elite speed,” he told the Democrat and Chronicle. Now, Samuel must find rhythm with Allen in Joe Brady’s high-octane RPO offense—a unit that racked up 4,306 passing yards in 2024. He’ll be battling for WR2 behind Khalil Shakir and alongside Josh Palmer and rookie Keon Coleman.

The Bills’ offseason was aggressive. GM Brandon Beane brought in major defensive talent with Jalen Ramsey, Justin Simmons, and Joey Bosa. With RB James Cook returning after a 1,086-yard season, Buffalo is clearly in win-now mode—despite having just $5.3 million in cap space left.

With an opt-out in his contract after 2025, this season is critical for Samuel. His vow resonates deeply with Bills Mafia, still aching for that elusive championship. And with the season opener against the Ravens on September 8, all eyes will be on Samuel to see if he can back up his bold promise.

Will this be the year Buffalo hoists the Lombardi? If Curtis Samuel has anything to say about it, the answer is yes.
