The NFL is where college players hope to have their career end up when it's all said and done, but for some, the bright lights could be too much. But for others, players embrace it and succeed well, completing big goals.
ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky has talked about how Anthony Richardson, quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, should take charge, to take the next step in his NFL career.
On the show, "Get Up," Orlosky said, "You have to grow up and become a professional," regarding Richardson as he enters his third season this coming fall.
After two seasons, Richardson has played in a total of 15 games. Statistically, he has accumulated 2,391 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, but has thrown 13 interceptions, and there have been 21 different times where he was taken down in the backfield for a sack. His completion rate sits at 50.6%.
His numbers in the air are well, but Richardson has also contributed on the ground, too. The former Florida Gator has 635 rushing yards, resulting in 10 touchdowns.
The Colts finished second in the ACF South with a record of 8-9, behind the Houston Texans, who stood at the top with at 10-7.
Orlovsky has a point as Richardson has great potential, and the talent is there to have a memorable career.
The season does not start again until Thursday, September 4, when Richardson will begin another segment of his journey.
Then, lies the opportunity to take charge of the locker and on the field with his team.
