
General Hospital recaps for Tuesday, July 22 reveal Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) has a heart-to-heart, Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) confesses, and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) make a deal.
Also, Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) finds a homemade card made for Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) makes a missing person report and accuses Sonny.
Lois’ Heart-To-Heart
Still on the Heart and Home set, Lois remembers when Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) fired her; Flora Gardens (Susan Batten) offers her encouragement and tea.
Lois is struggling after the argument with her daughter, she refuses to accept any reasoning; Flora listens and explains that mothers often keep secrets to shield their children.
When Lois reveals her actions, Flora believes it’s a huge lie- Lois understands she will never be forgiven, and shares the entire story, admitting that her secret ruined everything.
It damaged her relationships with BLQ and Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza), and even worse, Gio’s relationship with BL; It shattered her, but she wouldn’t do anything different.
She could have at least told Brook Lynn; “It’s my fault,” she admits regarding everything they are facing-Flora reminds Lois that she was young once, too; Lois still accepts her responsibility.
Portia’s Confession
Portia welcomes Isaiah Gannon (Sawandi Wilson) into her hospital office. He believes he’s about to be fired, and when she doesn’t greet him with a smile, his anxiety grows; she reassures him that’s not the case and reveals the truth.
She’s aware that the board is likely to ask for her resignation soon-it’s either that or she’ll have to compromise her principles, which she refuses to do any longer.
He expresses his regret and admiration for her choice, mentioning that he will miss her-she appreciates his support and enjoys their collaboration.
He advises her that if she’s going to fall, she should do so fighting, and she assures him that she will.
Sonny’s Sidwell Deal
In Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) office, Sonny makes a call to Sidwell, who assures him he will get what he desires-Laura enters, and he hangs up.
She mentions Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) interview, and he requests her to sever ties with him-if she refuses, he will take action.
She understands that Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) has been discussing this with him, but this is her choice, not Lulu’s.
Sonny urges her to do this for the time being-the negative publicity won’t last forever. Then, Sonny receives a call from ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor), who informs him that she knows he is with Laura and needs to speak with him immediately.
Laura Refuses To Publicly Denounce Sonny
Laura clarifies that she will not publicly denounce him, as people will see through it, and he agrees with her point. He leaves for the PCPD to see what Turner wants with him.
Later, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) arrives with an update on Sidwell after a meeting.
Laura is taken aback by the news of the demands and kidnapping involving Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo). Jordan implies that Sonny is just as culpable as Sidwell, and there is no longer Sonny being the less of two evils.
Sidwell Informs Drew He Must Withdraw His Support For Measure C
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) allows Sidwell into the house, where Sidwell tells him he needs to withdraw his support for Measure C and stop attacking Sonny.
Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) may still be able to fund Drew; Martin, who is also present, stands up-he wants to share the news with Tracy himself.
He exits, and Drew wonders what has changed Sidwell warns that he could face an unimaginable cost if he continues this way, and confesses that Sonny kidnapped his son.
Jordan proposes involving Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) in this matter, but Jenz disagrees. It’s a critical deadline-he promises that Sonny will pay in ways he never expected.
Martin Returns To Drew’s House After Sidwell And Jordan Leave, Finds A Homemade Card
Martin comes back to find that everyone else has left after Drew invites him to the wedding-the only condition for Martin to attend is if Drew compensates him.
While Drew is on the phone with the hospital searching for Portia, Martin discovers a homemade card drawn in crayon for Monica, under a chair. Upon Drew’s return, Martin presents the card to him asking if he wants to keep it.
Assuming it was left by Wiley and Amelia Corinthos (Viron Weaver, Serenity and Sequoia Mork Macko), Drew quickly departs, leaving Martin to peruse it.
The card expresses regret over Monica’s illness, and as Martin continues to read, his astonishment grows; his jaw drops in disbelief.
Lucas Makes A Missing Person’s Report And Accuses Sonny, Turner Eavesdrops
Lucas visits Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) at the PCPD and informs him that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) cannot be involved in this situation before revealing that Marco has been missing for 24 hours.
He accuses Sonny of kidnapping him; Chase reminds Lucas that just because someone has been missing for 24 hours doesn’t mean Sonny is responsible for the kidnapping.
Meanwhile, ADA Turner overhears and agrees that they need to take action, just as Sonny arrives at the PCPD- Turner claims she knows he kidnapped Marco.
Sonny dismisses her concerns, stating there is no evidence against him and that he has no problem with Marco, who saved his daughter’s life- Turner says he went after Sidwell’s child.
Sonny questions if she summoned him because she missed him-she warns him that she will arrest him if Marco doesn’t appear within the next 24 hours.
Willow Invites Elizabeth To Her And Drew’s Wedding, Isaiah Talks About The Cabin
At the nurses’ hub, Willow personally delivers a wedding invitation to Drew for Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) who admires its beauty.
Willow gives credit to Maxie Jones, (Kirsten Storms), and expresses her happiness that Liz will attend- Liz believes the event will be magical.
However, Willow is emotional, realizing her children won’t be present, and she feels their absence and misses them intensely.
After Willow departs, Isaiah informs Liz that he has meetings with contractors regarding the cabin Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) gave him and won’t be able to attend the wedding this weekend.
They talk about Drew’s issues and how they might impact the wedding and their marriage-Liz wishes for Willow to find the happiness she anticipates.
Martin Delivers The News About Measure C To Tracy
Martin meets BLQ and Tracy at the pool, and Tracy comments that he’s like a weed—unattractive and useless.
He can’t help but smile and informs her that Sidwell has withdrawn all funding and support-she inquires about the situation, but Martin is unable to explain- Drew cannot fund the measure himself.
Tracy assures him she will take care of it, with full funding; “Feel free to slither away to your overlord,” she tells Martin.
He questions what will happen when she runs out of money-she confidently claims that will never occur; he leaves, and Brook Lynn believes she’s acting like Ezra Boyle (Daniel Cosgrove) and Sidwell.
racy claims she is being truthful, but BLQ contends that this isn’t the case for everyone-if he hurts Sonny, he will also hurt Gio; Tracy cannot ignore this because of Gio.
Willow Invites Portia To Her Wedding, A Key And Note Are Delivered To Lucas
Willow enters Portia’s office and gives her a wedding invitation-Portia throws it in the trash; she’s not going to handle her gently.
Portia tells her she doesn’t know who her fiancé really is, and it’s time for her to find out. She informs the bride-to-be about Drew’s recent blackmail plot and says this is the man she’s going to marry; Willow appears shocked.
Lucas comes back to work and tells Isaiah he took care of what he needed to do. Isaiah gives him a small package that someone left for Lucas-it’s a card with an address on it and a key.
