Davante Adams, The Ex That Just Can’t Quit Talking About The Raiders

Everyone’s entitled to speak up, we all can do it. However, it’s interesting just how much Davante Adams continues to talk about the Las Vegas Raiders. The truly scorned lover, perhaps?

No matter how you want to look at it, the marriage between Adams and the Raiders has seen its share of highs and lows. It was not that long ago we witnessed Raider Nation buying his jerseys. They praised him to no end; some even sided with him during the quarterback debacles involving Derek Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo. However, things have really taken a turn following what can only be described as a “divorce.” We obviously use that term lightly, what else can you call it?

It was supposed to be the crowning achievement of the Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels regime. Adams landed in Sin City in exchange for a first and second round draft pick. Coming off an illustrious career with the Green Bay Packers, Adams delivered an All-Pro season back in 2022.

Unfortunately, that was the peak.

The valley came once Carr was jettisoned and the quarterback carousel that consumed the Raiders. Following a rift that got uglier once Adams made his dissatisfaction publicly known coupled with a trade request, it was all she wrote. No. 17 was headed to New York to reunite with Aaron Rodgers though we all know how that ended.

Things unraveled quickly between the Raiders and Davante Adams…

Whether it’s on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams or via a team presser, Adams also finds a way to throw shade at the Raiders. Most recently, Adams couldn’t help himself as he addressed the media following offseason activities for the Los Angeles Rams.

“Everybody’s in a good mood. It’s not like a dark cloud over the building. And I’ve experienced that quite a bit over the last few years. So, it’s a glaring difference when you come into a building like this.”

 

For those who’ve been involved in nasty breakups, this is how it tends to go. A scorned lover will often find every opportunity to lambast you to others. They’ll remind (and try to convince) people of how happy they are now. Either way, when you consider that this is a future Pro Football Hall of Famer lowering himself to such pettiness, it’s hard not to find the humor in it.
