David Pastrnak playfully shut down the idea of Tyler Bertuzzi coming back to Boston.
Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak recently appeared on Spittin' Chiclets and provided hockey fans with a great interview. This is not surprising, as Pastrnak is an entertaining personality.
During his appearance, the hosts asked Pastrnak about players he'd like to see on the Bruins. Paul Bissonnette notably brought up the prospect of a Tyler Bertuzzi reunion, and No. 88 shut that down in a playful way.
"He went to the Leafs. Bertuzzi went to the Leafs. Are you kidding me? He went to the Leafs. I don't know, man. I don't know. Like you got me into a tight squeeze right now."
With Bertuzzi potentially hitting the market again this offseason, there has been some buzz over the prospect of the Bruins trying to bring him back. He was a great rental for the club during the 2022-23 season, as he fit in instantly. After posting 16 points in 21 regular-season games following the move, he had five goals and 10 points in seven playoff games.
However, while Bertuzzi was an excellent pickup for Boston, Pastrnak can't look past him joining the Bruins' biggest rival after the fact.
It will be intriguing to see what happens with Bertuzzi this offseason. He and the Maple Leafs have both expressed interest in getting a new deal done, but time will if that comes to fruition.
