Dawn of Drew: Is Mr. Congressman Running a Cult-y Comeback? GH Fans Think So!

General Hospital's Cameron Mathison as Drew.General Hospital's Drew may have a shocking connection to cult leader Shiloh.

General Hospital fans have been irritated because Willow is so easily manipulated by Drew. No matter what people tell her, the sun continues to rise and set over his virtues in her eyes. It would seem that the only way to break his hold on her would be for Nina to reveal that she was sleeping with Drew while he was wooing Willow. But Nina won’t do that for fear of losing her daughter, and so Willow continues to be his pawn. Fans have come up with several theories about why he seems to remind them of a cult leader.

Drew Is a Lot Like Shiloh

It wasn’t too long ago that we learned Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had been a part of the Dawn of Day cult in her younger years. She eventually managed to get out of the control of its leader, Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin), but as some characters pointed out, she seems to follow men whom she perceives as having been a hero to her.

In early June, Kristina (Kate Mansi) talked to Michael (Rory Gibson) about Willow and remarked that her behavior was reminiscent of when she was controlled by Shiloh. This mention seems less like a simple reference to the past and more like a planted detail for fans to catch up on. One fan on Facebook concluded: “I believe Drew is Shiloh because Shiloh was originally in love with Willow.”

A Radical Theory

Shiloh and Drew knew each other when Drew served in Afghanistan, and Shiloh, going by “Hank,” was a contractor. Ultimately, Shiloh was instrumental in capturing Drew so he could be brainwashed by Helena (Constance Towers) and turned into a controllable assassin. Ultimately, Shiloh was shot dead by Sam, but did he truly die?

A fan on Reddit posed that when Drew’s plane went down in 2019, Shiloh had plastic surgery and swapped places with him. They proposed, “All of this since then has been a long, drawn-out plan to get back Willow and raise the child they were supposed to have together.”

When Willow was part of the Dawn of Day cult, Shiloh was obsessed with her, so the logic tracks. It’s also possible that since Shiloh had access to the memory-mapping tech used on Jason and Drew, he could have had his mind implanted in Drew’s body. A fan on Facebook also posited this theory, with one commenting, “That’s what I’m thinking 🤔 because he is so obsessed with Willow! This storyline is taking forever! That’s not Drew at all.”
