DAYS MAY 26 SHOCKER: John Fights for His Life After Explosion — Will Salem Say Goodbye for Good?!

Days of our Lives spoilers for Monday, May 26, prove that even a national holiday can’t stop Salem happenings, as Marlena, Brady, Paul, and Belle hope Kayla can save John.

John (Drake Hogysten) had just made it home when he was caught in a devastating explosion while working to help steal back the serum that might save Bo (Peter Reckell). Now, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) fights to save her brother’s life (is that allowed? Was she the only doctor available?), as Marlena (Deidre Hall), Brady (Eric Martsolf), Paul (Sean Christopher), and Belle (Martha Madison) keep a positive attitude and hold good thoughts.

Steve (Stephen Nichols) tries to comfort them by relaying what happened and labeling John a hero. But that’s cold comfort when they knew they could lose him at any moment. And we know it, too. John’s homecoming could only end in one way once his longtime actor did. Now the characters will have to face the same grief viewers have been carrying for months.

Two Sides To Every Story

Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Xander (Paul Telfer) flung angry accusations at each other. She lied to him about Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier)! He beat up Philip! They were both right, and Sarah threw Xander out of (his father’s) house.

Now, she’s trying to distract herself by leaping into the fray to save lives (shouldn’t she be working on John, instead of Kayla?), while Xander is unfortunate enough to stumble over Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), who has a lot to say to her son-in-law. Very little of it is good. On the other hand, the woman was married to Victor (John Aniston). And Xander hasn’t come close to committing the number and calibre of crimes that her husband had. So, maybe, lighten up a little bit?
