When we learned that Bo Brady would be taking a turn for the worse this week, we figured his body just couldn't hold on any longer after being shot. Before that, he was cryogenically frozen for nearly a decade after "dying" from a brain tumor. How much can one man even take? Well, we now know he contracted sepsis thanks to a bacteria in his ventilator, and it's grown out of control. But wait! A doctor right in fictional Salem's failing hospital is developing a cure for sepsis in the lab. Yes, Salem has the cure to a very real infection that killed 11 million people in 2020, accounting for 20% of the world's deaths, according to the World Health Organization. But the cure is right under Kayla's nose, wouldn't ya know? There's a doctor right in the hospital she runs who has been working on a modern miracle wonder drug, and she is sure they can get their hands on it. Isn't that amazing!? Now, we know that DAYS needed a dramatic way to bring Bo out of his coma and back onto the Salem scene, but couldn't they have chosen a not-so-real disease? That means a fake cure is being developed for something that affects very real people. The whole idea leaves an odd taste in our mouths, but we are going to have to put it all out of our minds if we are going to enjoy this long-awaited Bo return.
