Marlena (Deidre Hall) was shocked and horrified when Rachel (Alice Halsey) told her that Johnny (Carson Boatman) was the one who shot her Uncle EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel). She had one grandchild tell her that another grandchild tried to kill his own father. Marlena called Roman (Josh Taylor) and left him a message ASAP, so Roman and Kate both take over on Wednesday.

Roman and Kate (Lauren Koslow) discuss the situation amongst themselves before each takes Johnny aside individually to try to get the truth out of him. Both of them have been worried sick about Johnny since the night EJ was shot and may finally have their answers.

Johnny seems confused about their concern, but that looks like it's for a good reason. Rachel might not remember everything about that night, which could result in Johnny being arrested for a heinous crime that he did not commit. Will Johnny tell Kate and Roman that he doesn't know what they are talking about? Is Johnny about to get his answers from the police?

Now that he feels confident that Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) won't tell the police the truth about what he did, Xander (Paul Telfer) is ready to begin again. That means it's back to business, which means he has to salvage Titan's merger with DiMera since everything seems to be going wrong.

He has a brand-new idea that he hopes will do the trick, but he will need some help to pull it off. Which family member will he turn to? Will Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) be willing to help?

First, Xander has to deal with his personal problems. During a trip to the Brady Pub, he runs into Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and Victoria, who are having a nice chat with Brady (Eric Martsolf). Sarah allows Xander to see his daughter for a brief few minutes rather than making a scene in a public place.

However, things are about to get ugly, so Xander's new beginning might need to take a holiday since he is about to go toe-to-toe with his wife once again.
