This week saw the returns of well-known Salemites like Sami (Alison Sweeney), Vivian (Louise Sorel), and Rex (Kyle Lowder) as everyone coped with the aftermath of EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) shooting and one company’s victory.

Stephanie (Abigail Klein) woke up from a dream that Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) slept with Sarah (Linsey Godfrey), then the couple talked about the big forgery secret. Meanwhile, Sarah lied to Xander (Paul Telfer) about knowing about Stephanie’s affair with Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) and not saying anything.

Philip met Kate (Lauren Koslow) at the pub and she informed him about EJ’s shooting. Knowing his mother all too well, he questioned if she was the shooter and she denied it. But later, it was revealed she had a gun in her purse.

After Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Doug III (Peyton Meyer) woke up in her bedroom, she revealed she broke up with Tate (Leo Howard). Over at Brady’s (Eric Martsolf), Tate confided in Sophia (Rachel Boyd) about his breakup. Later, Tate went to see Holly at the mansion, but instead found Doug III in her room.

Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) arrived at the DiMera Mansion and was caught by Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), who wondered if she shot EJ. Kristen realized Gabi had motive, and Gabi through the accusations right back at her.

Brady broke it to Belle (Martha Madison) that EJ was shot and she confided in him about being unable to shake her feelings for him. Later, Belle arrived at the hospital to see EJ.

At the station, JJ (Casey Moss) shared with Shawn (Brandon Beemer) that he’s worried Gabi was involved in the shooting. Later, they got a warrant to search Kristen’s belongings and they found her gun.

Tate confronted Doug III when he found him in Holly’s room. The two got into it over Holly, Tate reminding him he was a thief and Doug III rubbing it in that Holly broke up with him. Tate punched Doug III just as Holly arrived and Tate left. Later, Sophia and Tate explained to Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) that EJ’s shooting will keep him away from their potential adoptive parents and Amy agreed to consider allowing the adoption again.

When Shawn and JJ brought Kristen in for questioning after finding her gun, she denied shooting her brother. After Gabi told Melinda (Tina Huang) about her exchange with Kristen, Melinda was called to represent her while Gabi thought back to being at the DiMera Mansion the night of the shooting.

Xander (Paul Telfer) met with Mr. Shin to convince him to get control of DiMera while EJ is comatose and Kristen is brought in. Mr. Shin agreed, and once Titan made their move, Xander and Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) arrived at Gabi Chic to let Gabi know her company was now theirs.

Belle went to visit EJ in the hospital and confessed to him that she loves him just as Sami walked in.

Kate was surprised with a visit from Rex, who wore a sling after his hit-and-run. She told him about EJ’s shooting, then when she later left to meet Philip, Rex found his mother’s gun.

Philip and Xander revealed to Gabi that DiMera had been taken over by Titan and they were her new bosses. They left it up to her whether she wanted to remain working there, and she reluctantly accepted. Later, just as Philip and Kate were about to toast to their victory, Vivian showed up.

Chad (Billy Flynn) went to check on Johnny (Carson Boatman) and suggested he visit his father in case this is goodbye.

Sami confronted Belle about admitting she loves EJ and the two swapped remarks. Later, she talked to EJ about their history when Johnny arrived.

When Johnny confronted his mother about falling in love and marrying the man who raped her, Sami tried explaining her long and complicated relationship with EJ. Later, when she left Johnny alone with his comatose father, he thought back on snatching his grandfather’s gun.

When Vivian interrupted Philip and Kate, she suggested they kill Xander in order to make Philip the sole CEO and threatened to oust Philip to his brother if he didn’t secure her half of Titan. Later, Vivian’s presence shocked Xander when she announced she’s moving into the mansion.

Elsewhere, Rex shared with Roman (Josh Taylor) that he’s worried Kate shot EJ after finding her gun.
