Dead by Daylight's latest update is all about The Walking Dead, and even though there isn't a new Killer coming to the game in this patch, there are quite a few Survivors and other goodies for fans to enjoy. Rick Grimes and Michonne are the leading Survivors for Dead by Daylight's Walking Dead collaboration, and they come with some of the most unique perks and abilities to date.
Dead by Daylight Walking Dead Chapter Release Date
The Walking Dead Chapter in Dead by Daylight will be released on July 29, 2025 on all platforms. PC players can test out the new update right now via the Public Test Build for Dead by Daylight, however, but console players will have to wait until the official release date comes around.
Dead by Daylight Rick Grimes Perks
Each of the two new Walking Dead Survivors comes with three unique perks. Here are Rick's perks in Dead by Daylight.
- Apocalyptic Ingenuity: After unlocking or rummaging through 2 chests, press Ability Button 1 for 8 seconds next to a broken pallet to build a fragile pallet. You see the auras of broken pallets within 32 meters. Fragile pallets are destroyed when dropped.
- Come and Get Me: After unhooking a Survivor, while crouched and idle, press Ability Button 1 to make injured and dying Survivors within 24 meters leave no scratch marks or pools of blood for 15 seconds. You scream and the Killer sees your aura for 5 seconds.
- Teamwork: Toughen Up: When another Survivor pallet-stuns or blinds the Killer while you are injured and within 24 meters, your grunts of pain, scratch marks, and pools of blood are reduced by 100% for 30 seconds.
Rick's perks are great for getting the Killer's attention and helping other Survivors get to safety, which is to be expected from a character like him. The ability to create new pallets is a huge game-changer, too.
Dead by Daylight Michonne Perks
Michonne also gets three new perks in Dead by Daylight, and they're all listed below.
- Conviction: After you have healed 1 Survivor, while downed with at least 25% recovery progress, press Ability Button 2 to recover instantly. You gain Broken, then are downed again after 30 seconds.
- Last Stand: After spending 60 seconds in the Killer's Terror Radius while not in chase, when you fast-vault, stun the Killer for 3 seconds if they are within 2.5 meters. Then, this perk is disabled for the rest of the trial.
- Teamwork: Throw Down: When you pallet-stun or blind the Killer, other injured Survivors within 24 meters gain Endurance and see the Killer's aura for 10 seconds.
Both Rick and Michonne's perks allow them to play aggressively against Killers, which is a nice change of pace from the support-oriented Survivors that Dead by Daylight has seen in its last few updates. No matter your choice, both of these new Survivors are quite powerful, and their perks can be transferred to other characters once you prestige them as always.
