Denver Broncos signed an undrafted free agent that the rest of the NFL made a mistake not selecting in the 2025 NFL Draft

The Denver Broncos added seven new players during the seven rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft.

They have also already signed a couple of intriguing undrafted players to complete the 2025 rookie class, including one player who many expected to hear his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Broncos signed Georgia Bulldog offensive lineman Xavier Tress after he went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft

Xavier Truss started his college career at Georgia in 2019 but didn't become a full-time starter until 2022. During his final three collegiate seasons, he was the Bulldogs' starting right tackle. But many around the league expect him to make the move to guard in the NFL. And most NFL Draft anyalst viewed him as someone who could hear his name called anywhere from the fifth round to the seventh in the 2025 NFL Draft. Which is why him ultimately going undrafted came as a surprise to many.

He has great size for the position at just over 6-7, and his overall strength should make him an asset at guard at the next level. It also should help that he won't have to deal with edge rushers turning the corner on him as much. There might be some learning curves while he makes the adjustment to guard at the pro level. But he will have a chance to earn a spot on the Broncos roster as a rotational lineman early. And his ability to play guard and tackle increases his chances tremendously. Luckily for him, the Broncos' current backup options at guard leave a lot to be desired.
